Private Use Ends Where an Escaped File Would Do Harm

Private Use Ends Where an Escaped File Would Do Harm Which AI generation for one's own use is the maker's to decide, and which rules against it are justified Position note · private generation, copyright, sexual deepfakes, the risk a stored file carries, and the rules that follow Andraž Đurič Version 1 · September 2026 Abstract This note asks which AI-generated media made for the maker's own use, on the maker's own devices, is the maker's to decide. The line it draws is not private versus shared. It is what an output would do to someone else if it left the maker's control. A private feature-length adaptation of a copyrighted comic falls on the permitted side: one copy displaces no identifiable sale and presents nothing to anyone. A sexual image of an identifiable real person, made without consent, is the hard case. Whether making it privately wrongs that person is contested, and the side holding that it does is currentl...

The Epistemic Forge Symbol

The Epistemic Forge Symbol Andraž Đurič September 2026 I made this symbol with Claude to bring together some of the ideas behind Epistemic Forge. I like how clean it looks, and I think it represents what I wanted it to. Here is what the different parts mean. Epistemic Forge symbol, version 3 A solid dot with a line that runs into an opening on the left side of a circle and ends there. Inside the circle are a lighter dot and fading dashes. The line resumes at the circle's right edge and fades smoothly to nothing, without an arrowhead. Epistemic Forge · Symbol, version 3 The symbol depicts a temporary being within a changing universe, carrying an incomplete model of that universe and remaining open to what it can learn from it. Read from left to right, it represents a cosmic history. Read from the outer marks to the smaller marks within the circle, it moves from...

What the Audit Leaves Open

What the Audit Leaves Open How much weight the possibilities that survive the audit of classical theism carry, which of them the evidence already reaches, and one attraction declared at zero weight Companion note · to God Does Not Exist : calibration over the open categories, the survival branch, and the fantastical corner Andraž Đurič Version 2 · September 2026 What this is, and what it rests on. God Does Not Exist argues one proposition, that the classical supernatural God does not exist, and in its §15 lists what the argument leaves open: a wider cosmos, new fundamental structure, a simulator or finite universe-maker, nonhuman agents with powers beyond ours. It keeps those categories open and assigns them no weights. This note assigns the weights, and grades confident belief against them. It amends nothing in the parent note, whose verdict on the classical God stands as published. The criterion of personal pe...

Cross-Agent Aggregation Principles

Cross-Agent Aggregation Principles Persistence frontiers, coupled viability, and the comparison of possible continuations Theoretical and formal paper · persistence, coupled viability, and cross-agent comparison Andraž Đurič Version 1 · 22 September 2026 Contents Abstract 1. From one interacting world to a comparison rule 2. What this paper inherits 3. Position in the literature 4. Fix the comparison before ranking outcomes 5. The open horizon is a family of questions 6. First principle: no-loss persistence dominance 7. Coupling changes the frontier, not just the description 8. Second principle: compare attainable continuations 9. Adaptive capacity and the complexity hypothesis 10. A worked frontier and an expanded menu 11. Why a frontier need not select one outcome 12. The human, the parasite, and the nested component 13.
