Human communication has always been constrained by biology. Speech requires breath, muscle coordination, sound propagation, and a receptive listener in the same physical or acoustic space. Writing extended our reach, but at the cost of time and energy. Digital communication compressed distance, yet it still relies on external interfaces — screens, keyboards, and voices. Neuro-interfacing technologies are currently primitive, fragmented, and experimental. Their signal resolution is limited, their accessibility narrow, and their reliability inconsistent. Still, even in this early state, they reveal a structural possibility: direct translation between neural states and information systems, bypassing many layers of physical mediation. If this trajectory continues — and there is no guarantee that it will — it is plausible that individuals equipped with such interfaces could communicate directly with one another through secure, encrypted channels.
