My ongoing attempt to map the territory at high fidelity, as honestly as I can. The aim is to get closer, to become less wrong, not to arrive, because there is no final place to arrive at. The path has setbacks and drift. Each post is open to revision. The author is open to being wrong.

The Dependency Map
Every instrument wired to the commitment it serves, and every commitment to the dimension it protects
Constructed visual (reference) · the dependency structure of the High-Fidelity Maps specification
Andraž Đurič
Version 1 · June 2026
The specification claims that instruments are not free-floating: each one discharges a commitment, the commitments are the load-bearing layer, and the four dimensions of fidelity are the ground they protect. This map shows that structure so it can be inspected rather than taken on trust. Read it right to left to ask "what protects accuracy?", or left to right to ask "what does this instrument actually buy?". Tap any node to light up its chain.
What this map shows, and what it omits. It shows three tiers, the twelve instruments, the thirteen invariant commitments, and the four dimensions of fidelity, plus two off-dimension nodes (uptake, the realized test, and provenance), with an edge for every "serves" and "protects" relation stated in the specification. It omits detail that sits below its resolution floor: the seven confidence rules (CL1 to CL7) are collapsed into the single commitment they serve, C2, and the type-and-tolerance selector of section 2, which decides which instruments are active, is shown as a column note rather than a node. Two honest irregularities are drawn as they are rather than tidied: two instruments (I8 visuals, I11 navigation) serve a dimension directly, with no single commitment parent, shown as dashed crimson edges; and four nodes sit at the edge of the model and are dashed (C13, a provenance norm rather than a fidelity dimension; I12, an instrument close to invariant; and the two off-dimension nodes). Several commitments (C8, C9, C10, C13) have no instrument feeding them, because they are pure discipline that no apparatus can mechanize. That absence is information, not an omission.
Tap a node to trace its chain. Tap empty space to reset.
Tap a node to see what it serves or protects, and which section of the specification defines it.
Instrument (I1 to I12, applied as the document's tolerances call for it)
Commitment (C1 to C13, invariant across profiles)
Dimension (the ground fidelity is measured on) dashed crimson edge = instrument serving a dimension directly ·
dashed node = sits at the edge of the model
One-sentence collapse: An ultra-low-bandwidth condensation of the paper above:
"Functioning as a constructed visual reference for the meta-specification, the dependency map explicitly diagrams the structural architecture of the corpus by tracing twelve situational analytical instruments to thirteen invariant epistemic commitments that anchor into the four core dimensions of fidelity, thereby rendering the framework's operational dependencies and pure behavioral disciplines fully inspectable."
What You Actually Are What a person is, and therefore what survives being copied, migrated, and ended Position note · the criterion of personal persistence, its verdicts on copying and death, and the one place it is a posit Andraž Đurič Version 2 · July 2026 What this is, and the posit it rests on. A statement of what a person is, fixed precisely enough that the survival questions have determinate answers: what becomes of a person who is copied, uploaded, replaced part by part, or killed. A late section draws the reflexive consequence: once technologies exist that operate on the self, knowing the answer becomes part of the survival question. The constitution claim, that a person is a pattern and a process rather than a soul, is the easy half and is granted by most who hold physicalism; the work here is the contestable half, what survives, and it parts from Parfit not on the metaphysics, which it shares, but on wh...
The Shape of the Disagreement Why the sex and gender debate has the structure it has, and where its real cruxes actually sit Andraž Đurič Version 2 · June 2026 · A diagnostic, not an argument for a side The public argument over sex and gender is usually narrated as two incompatible accounts of reality, each accusing the other of denying the obvious. That framing is right about the heat and wrong about the structure. This piece does something narrower than take a side: it asks why the disagreement has the shape it has, where each of the two dominant models genuinely captures something, where each breaks, and which apparent collisions are real collisions versus people answering different questions and mistaking the answers for rivals. The thesis is not that one model "uses more of reality." That is a category error, and an earlier version of this essay made it. The corrected thesis is that most of this debate is the predictable frict...
Value as Persistence Agent-relative oughts under coupling, nesting, uncertainty, and open-ended time Position note · the enabling condition secured, the coupled web stated, and the content-reduction defended to its boundary and held as a bet Andraž Đurič Version 2 · 10 July 2026 What this is, and the two claims it refuses to merge. A physicalist account of value, whose whole discipline is keeping apart two claims that a single slogan — value is persistence — runs together. The first, the enabling condition , is that without the persistence of a bounded valuer there is no continuing domain in which anything is valued. It is near-analytic and is held at full strength. The second, the content-reduction , is that every value reduces, in what it is about, to persistence. It is the corpus's monist bet, and it is held as a bet. The reduction entails the enabling condition; the enabling condition does not ent...
